People Forum 

About the People Forum 
 

Purpose: The People Forum serves the following purposes: 

  • Addressing issues pertaining to workplace people management and skills development, encompassing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). 
  • Influencing legislation by compiling relevant submissions on related legislative matters and gauging our impact. 
  • Providing a platform for networking opportunities among members to share expert knowledge and best practices. 
  • Gathering information on skills and related topics to facilitate further discussions and ideas. 

The forum's activities include hosting panel discussions and/or events focusing on key areas related to people management, skills development, unemployment issues, and the growth of Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) in the country. Additionally, it addresses Health and Wellness in the workplace and Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG). 


Scope: The forum's scope encompasses: 

  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging 
  • Transformation 
  • Health and Wellness 
  • ESG 
  • Any other Labour Relations issues 

This also includes AmCham engagement at a senior level if necessary and any other related areas.

Meeting Arrangements: 

Meeting Frequency and Location: Meetings will occur on a quarterly (or similar) basis, as determined by AmCham. Forum meetings are held either virtually or in-person. Special meetings may also be called as and when the need arises to address urgent items for attention. 

Meeting Procedures: Each meeting should have an agenda outlining the intention and purpose, including an address by a subject matter expert or a panel discussion on a topic of interest to forum members. Meetings should not exceed 90 minutes in duration unless otherwise required by the forum, and clear action items and next steps need to be identified by the close of each meeting
