Member Spotlight | Woolpert Africa: A Journey of Growth
Woolpert has experienced meaningful growth within the past year— not just regarding our team and physical footprint, but our impact as a trusted provider of geospatial solutions for the region. As an American-owned, African-operated business, we combine global expertise with local knowledge to support Africa’s growing mining, infrastructure, and energy industries.
Our Growth Journey
Woolpert’s workshare capacity in Africa has expanded significantly between 2025 and 2026. During this period, our production team grew from 121 employees at the start of 2025 to 254 by June 2026 — a 110% increase that has contributed to the advancement of our technical capabilities and talent pipeline.
This growth not only reflects our commitment to enhancing our delivery capabilities but showcases our investment in the people and skills that result in high-quality outcomes for our clients.
Investing in STEM and the Next Generation of Industry Leaders
A big part of our growth journey involves our commitment to supporting the next generation of industry leaders. Through our ongoing focus on skills development and education, we continue to strengthen our involvement in STEM initiatives across our Africa offices. As part of this initiative, we are proud to have employed approximately 50 individuals between the ages of 19 and 41. Rather than focusing solely on school-leavers, our programme is designed to address unemployment in South Africa by supporting individuals who completed matric with STEM subjects but were unable to pursue further studies due to life circumstances.
The goal is to not only grow our talent but to strengthen the broader industry by ensuring that young minds have the opportunity to develop their careers and have a meaningful impact on the geospatial industry.
What Growth Means for Us
Africa is one of the most dynamic regions in the world based on geospatial innovation, expanding infrastructure, and digital change.
With expanding our presence in Africa, we are able to form meaningful partnerships with local industries while bringing world-class expertise to developing markets.
Looking Ahead
From expanding our Johannesburg and Cape Town offices and increasing our talent pipeline, to enhancing our recognition and opportunities across the region, we are proud to continue strengthening our capabilities and position as a trusted partner and leading geospatial provider for Africa.
